The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) has partnered with Accessible Travel Solutions to introduce a new course on accessible tourism as part of its Verified Travel Advisor elective program.
The course is designed to equip travel advisors with practical tools and frameworks to better serve clients with mobility, sensory and cognitive needs. As accessible tourism continues to grow, ASTA says the training will help advisors confidently navigate what can often feel like a complex planning process.
Accessible Travel Solutions CEO John Sage said the program aims to remove uncertainty for advisors who want to provide inclusive travel experiences but may lack formal guidance. The curriculum focuses on real-world application, helping advisors understand accommodations, supplier communication and trip design considerations for travelers with disabilities.
ASTA director of education Alvin Adriano described accessible tourism as a vital and expanding segment of the travel industry. By offering structured education in this area, ASTA aims to empower advisors to broaden their client base while ensuring that trips are thoughtfully planned and fully inclusive.
The course is priced at $190, with a discounted rate of $99 for ASTA members. The initiative reflects the industry’s increasing emphasis on inclusivity and accessibility as key components of modern travel planning.
