Dubai’s Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2026 has been postponed from its traditional May slot to mid-August, as organizers respond to ongoing regional instability while seeking to preserve the scale and global reach of one of the industry’s most important trade events. The show will now take place from August 17 to 20 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, maintaining its original venue but shifting its position in the annual travel calendar.
The decision reflects mounting operational challenges across the Middle East aviation and tourism sectors. Airlines in the Gulf have faced route disruptions and temporary suspensions linked to the Iran conflict, while hospitality providers in Dubai have reported a wave of short-term booking cancellations during periods of heightened tension. Against this backdrop, event organizer RX said the revised timing is intended to prioritize safety while giving exhibitors, partners, and visitors greater confidence in planning attendance.
Despite the disruption, the broader outlook for the region’s travel industry remains relatively resilient. Gulf carriers and tourism operators have historically demonstrated a capacity to recover quickly from external shocks, including geopolitical events and the pandemic. Recent passenger traffic figures in the UAE suggest continued demand, even as airlines adjust schedules and capacity in response to evolving conditions. Industry analysts also point to ongoing efforts by local authorities and businesses to stabilize performance and restore momentum in key tourism segments.
Arabian Travel Market itself has grown steadily in recent years, reinforcing its role as a central meeting point for global travel stakeholders. The 2025 edition drew more than 55,000 professionals from 166 countries and nearly 2,800 exhibitors, reflecting a 16 percent increase in participation. Organizers expect the 2026 event to maintain that trajectory, supported by a program focused on long-term industry trends under the theme “Travel 2040: Driving New Frontiers Through Innovation and Technology.”
Key areas of focus are expected to include the expanding role of artificial intelligence, sustainability initiatives, and the evolution of digital travel platforms. The event will also feature a dedicated travel technology showcase, bringing together companies working across AI, virtual and augmented reality, robotics, and fintech. Additional segments will target luxury travel and the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions sector, alongside a series of panel discussions and presentations addressing the structural shifts shaping global tourism.
While the date change introduces logistical adjustments for participants, organizers have emphasized close coordination with stakeholders to ensure continuity. The rescheduling underscores both the challenges facing the regional travel ecosystem and the importance of maintaining major industry platforms that facilitate global connectivity and business development.
