Southwest Airlines is expanding its international distribution network through a new partnership with German carrier Hahnair. The collaboration allows travel advisors in 190 markets outside the United States to book Southwest flights in the Amadeus GDS, using Southwest’s WN code and Hahnair’s HR-169 ticket stock. Access through Travelport systems will follow soon.
The agreement marks another step in Southwest’s ongoing effort to grow its presence in global retail channels. In recent years, the airline has joined major OTAs and metasearch platforms, broadening access beyond its traditional U.S. customer base.
Hahnair, based in Germany, specializes in connecting travel agencies with carriers lacking distribution in certain regions. Acting as the ticketing airline of record, it manages settlement through ARC and IATA, streamlining global sales for partner airlines like Southwest.
