The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) has announced a new partnership with the International Association of Destination Wedding Professionals (IADWP), aimed at expanding education, training and business resources for travel advisors specializing in destination weddings and romance travel.

Under the agreement, ASTA members will gain access to enhanced destination wedding and romance-focused training programs, along with tools designed to help advisors grow and diversify their businesses in one of travel’s most lucrative and high-touch segments. The partnership also gives ASTA broader exposure to advisors who already sell destination weddings but are not yet members of the society, potentially expanding its advisor base.

The collaboration strengthens ASTA’s international footprint through IADWP’s established relationships with tourism boards and industry partners in key destination wedding markets, including Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and Mexico. These connections are expected to create new opportunities for advisor education, supplier engagement and on-the-ground destination expertise.

IADWP members will also benefit from the partnership, gaining access to expanded professional development opportunities and closer engagement with the travel advisor community. The agreement is designed to foster collaboration between wedding planners, travel advisors, tourism boards and suppliers, helping professionals deliver seamless, experience-driven destination weddings and romance travel experiences.

“Destination weddings and romance travel represent a high-value, high-touch segment of our industry,” said ASTA president and CEO Zane Kerby. “By partnering with IADWP, we are giving travel advisors the tools, insights and connections they need to succeed while delivering unforgettable experiences for their clients.”

The partnership reflects growing demand for specialized advisor expertise as couples increasingly turn to professionals to manage complex, multi-destination celebrations abroad.
