One&Only has officially entered the American hospitality landscape with the grand opening of One&Only Moonlight Basin, a highly anticipated alpine resort set in the heart of Montana’s dramatic Big Sky region.

Situated on 240 secluded acres and surrounded by more than 17,000 acres of protected wilderness, the new property blends modern luxury with the rugged natural beauty that defines the American West. Overlooking two private lakes and positioned just an hour from Bozeman and Yellowstone National Park, the resort marks a major milestone for the brand’s expansion into the United States.

With a collection of rooms, suites, standalone cabins, and multi-bedroom private homes, One&Only Moonlight Basin is designed as a year-round sanctuary for travelers seeking adventure, tranquility, and refined comfort.

Luxury Lodging and Elevated Dining

The resort’s low-rise design is intentionally crafted to complement the surrounding mountains, using natural materials and extensive glazing to highlight the sweeping vistas.

Guests can choose from guestrooms, interconnecting family rooms, king suites, and the standout Big Sky Suite, which includes a wraparound terrace, an outdoor soaking tub, and panoramic mountain views.

The freestanding cabins offer enhanced privacy, each equipped with its own fire pit and outdoor soaking tub. For larger groups, the four- to six-bedroom private homes provide a residential-style retreat, complete with gourmet kitchens, hot tubs, and expansive indoor-outdoor living spaces.

Dining at One&Only Moonlight Basin reflects Montana’s flavors through a mix of comfort and creativity. The Landing serves elevated alpine cuisine, Wildwood offers ranch-inspired dishes and sensory breakfasts, and Michelin-starred chef Akira Back brings a contemporary Japanese concept to the mountains with premium steaks and seafood.

Guests can sip craft cocktails at Dear Josephine, a speakeasy-style bar inspired by a legendary Prohibition-era moonshiner, or enjoy whiskeys and cigars at Moonshack, tucked away among the trees.

Outdoor Adventure and Wellness Experiences

One&Only Moonlight Basin is designed as a four-season playground, offering direct access to Big Sky Resort via the heated One&Only Gondola. In winter, guests can enjoy skiing, guided snowshoeing, Nordic trails, and fat-tire biking.

When the snow melts, the landscape transforms into a haven for hiking, mountain biking, and trout fishing at the resort’s private lakes. Wildlife safaris and guided excursions into Yellowstone add another layer of adventure. Families will find plenty to explore at the KidsOnly club, while stargazing sessions at the private observatory offer a unique way to experience Montana’s famously clear night skies.

The resort’s 17,000-square-foot spa provides a tranquil retreat with treatment rooms overlooking the landscape, a heated onsen, a cold plunge, and an indoor pool that opens to the outdoors in warmer months. Guests can also enjoy a fitness center, yoga deck, and tennis courts, along with treatments developed in partnership with world-renowned wellness brands.

New Horizons for One&Only Resorts

As One&Only expands its footprint in North America, the brand is simultaneously accelerating growth across the Pacific. Earlier this year, the company unveiled plans for an upcoming ultra-luxury retreat in Fiji, complete with private homes designed for long-term residential stays.

That project, set to open in 2029, reflects the same philosophy seen at Moonlight Basin: a deep respect for the natural environment, immersive architecture, and a strong focus on blending resort living with exclusive residential experiences.

Together, these developments signal One&Only’s broader strategy to elevate its presence in high-value destinations, offering travelers and homeowners new ways to engage with the brand’s signature approach to luxury and nature-driven design.
