Cathay Pacific will restore nonstop flights between Hong Kong and Seattle on March 30, 2026. The airline plans five weekly roundtrips using its Airbus A350-900 aircraft, adding Seattle back to its North American network after several years’ absence.

This move is part of Cathay Pacific’s effort to rebuild its long-haul operations and strengthen its transpacific reach. For travellers on both sides, the route promises shorter journey times and greater convenience without stopovers.

A Strategic Gateway for Business and Leisure

Seattle is a major hub for technology and trade, making it a natural gateway for traffic to and from Asia. By relaunching the service, Cathay Pacific connects Hong Kong’s busy international hub with the Pacific Northwest’s growing business and tourism markets.

Passengers from Asia will have an easier entry point into the United States, with onward connections to other U.S. cities. Conversely, travellers from the U.S. will gain direct access to Hong Kong and Cathay Pacific’s extensive Asian network.

Launching in spring allows the airline to capture the busy summer travel season. Five weekly flights offer flexibility for business travellers, tourists, and visiting friends and family. The choice of the A350-900 ensures fuel efficiency and quieter cabins, important factors on a long-haul route.

What Travellers Can Expect Onboard

The Airbus A350-900 will feature Business Class with fully flat beds, Premium Economy with wider seats and extra legroom, and refreshed Economy cabins. Inflight entertainment and dining menus will blend Asian and Western options.

Cathay Pacific is expected to promote the relaunch with introductory fares. However, as with any new or returning route, travellers should plan ahead and book early to secure preferred dates and prices.

For the wider market, the return of this service signals renewed confidence in transpacific travel. Airlines are gradually restoring networks, and passengers are benefiting from more direct connections and upgraded aircraft.
